Pregnancy After 35: Know How It affects mother and child:- There are many reasons for a delayed pregnancy. Nowadays many are conceiving only after 35 years in attain success in their career and also financial stability. But there are problems that can arise when a woman is planning pregnancy after 35, like the Advanced Maternal Age Category (AMA).
Dr Sangeeta Rodeo, consultant gynaecology and obstetrics at Fortis Hospital explained to Hindustan Times about understanding pregnancy after the age of 35. There are many chances for failure of pregnancy at this age and even the quality of the egg will be diminished, so it's better to save an egg at the very early stages.
Some of the problems are as follows :
Infertility, as a woman approaches menopause, conceiving will be a challenge as the eggs reduce in a woman. Even the quality of the egg will be reduced which will be harder and face trouble for fertilisation.
There are high chances of Miscarriage as well because of the egg quality. As the woman grows older, the quality of the egg will be reduced and more chances of miscarriage.
Chromosome Issues: Children are at high chances of Down Syndrome. Out of 365 children, one is with Down syndrome for a child of a mother aged 35 and if the mother is at the age of 45, then they are more at risk.
A diabetic pregnancy is also a risk for the baby that might cause a wound to the womb and might risk the mother. There are high chances of blood pressure and also chances of complications.
