Study Says That Sitting Too Much May Lead To Depression:- A recent study said that people who continue to sit together for a longer time and spend time sedentary have been having high symptoms of depression. The study was conducted between April and June last year. A closer investigation also said that this had an impact on their mental health. These findings have been published in the journal 'Frontiers in Psychiatry'. People have spent months at home during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic and they have self-isolated themselves due to work or other reasons during the time. Most of them had to spend time before their workspaces and they spent most of the time sitting and are away from physical exercises due to lockdown.
Lot of people have been more sedentary because of the coronavirus pandemic. Jacob Meyer, assistant professor of kinesiology at Iowa State University and lead author of the study told that Sitting is a sneaky behavior and we do it all the time without thinking about it. Jacob Meyer and his team analyzed about the physical activity and the behaviors and how they are related to the mental health of an individual. They also conducted a research about how they influence the behaviour of the people and how they feel.A study was conducted on 3000 participants from 50 states and the District of Columbia. They revealed about the activities and they filled the surveys depending on which the conclusion was made.
