YS Jagan Lays Foundation Stone For 50,793 Houses:- Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan inaugurated a mega housing programme under Navaratnalu, ‘Pedalandariki Illu’ today at Krishnayapalem in Amaravathi. With this 50,000 people will be provided houses in the Amaravathi R-5 zone. YSRCP after a lone battle with the central government gets permission for the first phase of construction.

YS Jagan said, “YSRCP government fought against everyone in the Supreme court to get houses for the poor in Amaravathi region. Amaravathi is not only for the rich, it belongs to everyone. TDP has tried all the ways to stop construction by creating legal hurdles, but we won before the court of law”.

Andhra Pradesh government will spend Rs 2000 Cr to construct these houses which will be completed before 2024 Sankranthi. One of the houses at Krishnayapalem layout was built in three days with shear wall technology. The government is going to follow the same technology and construct the remaining 24,200 houses. Construction of houses was estimated at Rs 1,786 Cr. Water supply lines and approach roads were estimated at a cost of Rs 365.91Cr and infrastructure around schools and medical centres are estimated at a cost of Rs 72.06 Cr.

A total of 50,793 will be beneficiaries under this project. Adviser of Andhra Pradesh Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy visited the site on Sunday along with housing minister Jogi Ramesh, social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna and Housing MD Lakshmisha. On this occasion, he addressed the media and said even if the central government stop the funds for construction, the state government is willing to complete the entire project.
