Aircel still defiant on Maran

The Aircel Chief has been yet defiant on his stands against the former telecom Minister. He spills his wrath on the later for forcing him out of business.

The Aircel-Maxis seemed like an ever ending story, with the procedures taking their own course of action. The Chief of Aircel C Sivasankaran had once again spilled his wrath on the former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran that he had constricted business environment for his company Aircel that forced him sell it to a Malaysian firm Maxis, owned by billionaire T Ananda Krishnan.

This was the opinion expressed by the Aircel man to the Central Bureau of Investigations, the investigating agency on the issue. Now speculations are rife that the Minister would also be called for further investigations.  This was his first statement to the agency after registration of FIR in connection with the Aircel-Maxis deal. Dayanidhi Maran, his brother Kalanidhi and T Ananda Krishnan have been named accused in the FIR. Sivasankaran is a prime witness.

“Sivasankaran’s statement was recorded under section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code and will be presented before the court once the CBI decides to file charge sheet in the case after completing the investigation. Chances are that he might be called for questioning again as there are some issues which require more clarification from him,” said a source. It may be noted that it was this deal that cost the Minister his portfolio last July.  (With inputs from internet: AarKay)
