Sachin Tendulkar stands tall for MARD

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has hit the message home. He is lending his voice for the Marathi version of MARD poem. Men Against Rape and Discrimination (MARD), an initiative taken up by the versatile Farhan Akhtar, has struck the right chord all over the country.

A poem, supporting the cause, has been penned by Javed Akhtar. Sachin will recite the poem with its Marathi lyrics, translated by Jitendra Joshi. The video of the poem with Sachin's voice will be out soon. Meanwhile, you can check out the video of its recording.

The poem has also been translated into other regional languages, including Telugu, Tamil and Punjabi. We know that Prince Mahesh has lent his voice for the Telugu version...Vaade Magadu.

Sachin, as an icon, is sure to take the cause to new heights. No one can dispute his talent and the respect he derives. His support is also something that is unquestionable.

MARD said in a statement, "Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has taken a stand to bat for a noble cause - discrimination against women. He has collaborated with director-actor Farhan Akhtar to recite a special poem in Marathi for MARD to create awareness among men to respect women and promote gender equality. Given Sachin's heroic stature in the nation, his involvement in the campaign will inspire many more to join the noble cause."

Kudos to Farhan Akhtar!

Here is Mahesh's message in Telugu.
