Yet another Bollywood actor has been named as the brand ambassador of the United Nations initiative and this time it is filmmaker cum actor, the multi-talented Farhan Akhtar. He has been named as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and he is the first ever male to be part of a Women based campaign.

After the Nirbhaya incident, Farhan has launched a campaign 'Men Against Rape and Discrimination' shortly called as MARD. Apart from this, Akhtar will also serve as an advocate for UN Women's newly launched HeForShe campaign - an initiative aimed at placing men at the centre of activism and dialogue to end persistent inequalities faced by women and girls around the world.
