BJP is seeing a successful captain in Narendra Modi to make the party win in 2014 elections. His following, response to his speeches are reassuring to the party that he will deliver the goods. But does BJP really think so or just believing it as there is no other alternative?
AICC Chief Secretary Digvijay Singh said on Monday that Sushma Swaraj may be the right candidate to contest for the seat of Prime Minister on behalf of BJP.
Leaving Digvijay Singh’s remarks off, Modi is carrying a mark of violence imprinted across his face for the inhuman killings that took place in Gujarat in 2002 in which over 1000 innocent people mostly Muslims died. It is hard to forget the incident even after 11 years as the mark is etched so deep in to the hearts of the Muslims that it is hard for them to vote for Modi to make him Prime Minsiter of the Country.
Besides the dark spot of Modi that will be superimposed on BJP as he is the party’s PM candidate, BJP has already seen the impact of Modi’s presence the moment he was officially announced from the partys leaders and among its allies.
But for the support of RSS, Modi could not have got approval from the senior leaders like L.K.Advani. Why RSS supports is everybody’s guess. The very black spot of Modi for the violence on Muslims has earned him good marks in RSS.
But the supporters of Modi say that the Supreme Court of India initiated investigation on the Gujarat violence has given a clean chit to Modi clearing him from the violence that took place. More over as a man of making Gujarat rich he is believed to elevate the Country financially in which Congress party miserably failed.
To tell that he is very sensitive and do not harm any not to talk of a riot in which 1000 people were killed, Modi took a bad example that made the people revolt for it and demanded apology from him. He said that he will feel it bad if a puppy on the road is killed by the driver of the car in which he sat in the back seat. Although he is not responsible, he will feel bad for the incident. The comparison of Muslims killed with that of a dog dies on the road made Muslims get hurt.
It is not just doubtful but makes many believe that the country with multiple languages and religions and with numerous tribal communities, a leader of State with a stain on him cannot work to the satisfaction of all of the citizens of India as many of them fear that they will be ignored or crushed.
