AdvaniarrestBJP senior leader Mr LK Advani asserted today that his party would stand by its commitment to the Telangana state and promised to support the Telangana bill if introduced in the winter session of Parliament.

Speaking at a public meeting at Adilabad as part of his countrywide Janachetana Yatra, Advani asked the Government to introduce the Telangana bill in the winter session of parliament. “If you introduce the bill, we will support it as per our commitment to the Telangana state,” said Advani in his speech.

Advani said that the Telangana people are anxious to have their own state and their wishes must be fulfilled. “It is a 5-decade old issue and must be solved immediately,” he said.

Expressing his anguish over the increasing number of suicides in the country, Advani said while students are resorting to suicides in Telangana over the delay in the formation of separate state, farmers have been resorting to self immolations in Vidarbha. “It is a very sad situation,” he said.

Asking the government to respect the sentiments of the Telangana people by creating the separate state, he said Governments have to abide by the people’s wishes always. “If you don’t recognize the fact, you will be washed away in the people’s anger,” Advani warned the congress leadership.
