The TRS leaders had described as wishful thinking a proposal for formation of Telangana United Front (TUF) for fighting for the creation of the Telangana state. Senior TRS leader B. Vinodkumar told a Hyderabad based newspaper Friday evening that the proposal for the formation of Telangana United Front (TUF) had been mooted by some congress and TDP leaders and ruled out the winding up of the TRS.
“TRS will remain TRS and the TUF proposal is nothing but a wishful thinking. TRS was born to fight for achieving Telangana and it would not be wound up,” he said. “But we support a common fight by all leaders for achieving Telangana. All leaders who are interested in Telangana can come under one umbrella without losing their identities and continue the fight,” Vinodkumar said.
The proposal for the formation of the TUF seems to have come from congress leader K. Keshava Rao and TDP leader Nagam Janardhan reddy. Both of them had suggested that all leaders committed to Telangana should quit their seats and form the TUF.
TRS legislature party leader in the assembly Etela Rajender also ruled out the dissolution of the TRS for the sake of TUF. “TRS will be there as long as Telangana is there,” he said.
