Despite the resignation threats of the congress MPs and MLAs of the Telangana region after June 30 if no positive decision is announced on Telangana by then, the congress high command is reportedly of the opinion that the solution lies in the constitution of a Telangana Regional Council or Board.
The congress high command is of the firm view that constitution of a regional council similar to the one agreed in case of Gorkhaland will suffice to solve the Telangana issue. Defense Minister AK Antony is said to have conveyed this proposal to the congress MPs and MLAs of the Telangana region who met him in Delhi this afternoon.
The disappointed T congress leaders have reportedly offered to submit their resignations on the spur of the moment but reconciled themselves and decided to quit their positions only after June 30 as they have already given that deadline.
