Nagam to launch own outfit for T state

NagamJenardhanReddyMr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, who was suspended from the TDP, said today he would launch a new political outfit for achieving separate Telangana state. “It can be a political party or a forum,” he told newspersons in Hyderabad this evening.

Disclosing that TDP MLAs owing allegiance to him would resign from the party in the next two days, Janardhan reddy said the people’s representatives of the Telangana region have become a stumbling block in the process of achieving T state.

“To quit is our constitutional and political right but this right is being decimated by the government,” he said. “Former Chief Minister Rosaiah’s resignation to the Legislative Council has been accepted in no time but the Speaker has decided not to accept our resignations.”

Janardhan reddy has threatened to launch a save democracy campaign across Telangana region if the resignations are not accepted immediately.

Speaker to go by rules

Meanwhile, Speaker Nadendla Manohar assured the Jagan group congress MLAs that he would take a decision on their resignations as per the rules.

“I will talk to all MLAs who have resigned before taking a decision as per the constitution,” he told the MLAs who met him and requested him to accept their resignations.

Manohar also observed that the resignation letters of Kunja Satyavathi, Jayasudha and Konda Surekha were not with him and would consider if they resigned again. In all, 27 of the 29 congress MLAs who resigned in support of Jagan a few days ago met the Speaker and asked him to accept their resignations. The MLAs said they would meet the Governor tomorrow and request him to direct the Speaker to accept their resignations.
