CM in fix over Banswada by poll

CM in fix over Banswada by pollThe proposed by election of Banswada in Nizamabad district on October 13 has brought new problems to the chief minister Kirankumar reddy.

While the TDP Telangana Forum leaders have almost decided not to contest the by poll and asked the other parties to keep off it, the congress is in a dilemma on the issue. Different opinions have come up in the state congress on contesting the by poll facilitated due to the quitting of Pocharam Srinivas Reddy from the TDP and the assembly. He is now contesting the by poll as the TRS candidate.

While Kirankumar is of the view that the party must contest the by poll irrespective of the winning chances, former PCC chief Mr D. Srinivas and former minister Mr Shabbir Ali are opposing the contest by the congress.

Since there are no chances of winning the by poll in the wake of a strong T sentiment prevailing in the region, these two leasers have advised the party against contesting. But the chief minister is of the view that the stocks of the party will go down if it doesn’t put up a candidate there. “How can I convince the high command if there is no contest from our party?” he seems to have asked his colleagues.

“In fact the CM wants either D. Srinivas or Shabbir Ali to contest the by poll but they are not interested,” said a senior congress leader.
