The cash seized by the Guntakal police on Thursday from a Hyderabad bound Bellary lorry was Rs.4.95 Cr and not 4 Cr as reported earlier. The names of the arrested persons are Mr Venkatrama reddy of Chapadu and Mr Eswara reddy of Prodduturu in Kadapa district. Police said the lorry belonged to one Mahaboob Basha of Prodduturu.
The arrested persons told police that some unidentified persons handed over the bags to them in Ballari and asked them to deliver the bags to their persons at Katedan on the outskirts of Hyderabad for payment of Rs.20, 000. The cash was said to be belonging to the arrested mining mafia don Mr Gali Janardhan reddy.
Mr Venkatarama reddy, the lorry driver told police they didn’t know that cash was lying in the bags handed over to them. Reports said that for the last four to five days several lorries have been transporting Gali money to secret locations in AP and Karnataka from Bellary. To avoid suspicion, the money was packed in soap and other boxes.
After the bags were seized, the cash contained in the bags was counted in the presence of revenue officials. The total cash was amounted to R.4.95 Cr, all in shape of 1000 rupee notes. The seizure was reported to the CBI officials.
Reports said that the amount was being transported to Hyderabad to be handed over to a minister through an MLA.

Reports said that Gali brothers and their friends started transporting the black money stored in secret locations to several destinations as CBI teams began raiding their houses at several places.
