Election Time: AP In Top 3 In Cash Seizures:- With elections heading across the country, money is flown like anything and the Enforcement agencies are working hard to seize the cash. With election code into effect, any individual is restricted from carrying cash in a limit of Rs 50,000. The Enforcement agencies reported that they have seized huge amount of cash during the season. Tamil Nadu leads the list with Rs 107.24 crores as per the records by March 25th. Uttar Pradesh landed second with Rs 104.53 crores and Andhra Pradesh is in third place with Rs 103.4 crores. The latest information has been released by the Press Information Bureau.
The single largest seizure of cash comes from Andhra Pradesh with Rs 55 crores and Tamil Nadu got Rs 36.6 crores. In UP, freebies and other items worth ₹59.04 crore have also been seized. AP Government said that Centre deputed several Income Tax officers to the state to create a situation of panic. The total seizure across the country is said to be Rs 540 crores. Liquor worth Rs 89.64 crores too has been seized in the recent raids.
