Enraged at the lack of response from the Centre to the ongoing mass general strike and clearly worried over their political future, the Telangana congress leaders today warned the party high command of serious consequences if there is no proper favourable response from it on the demand for separate state.
“We are leaving for Delhi on September 25 or 26 to have final talks with the high command and this would be the last chance for the congress leadership to announce Telangana formation,” said the T congress leaders in media conference after a meeting at the residence of the Rajya Sabha MP, Mr K. Keshava Rao.
Senior T congress leader, Mr Damodar Reddy said they would decide their future course of action after the Delhi trip. “It is very unfortunate that the Centre and the congress high command are least bothered when the entire Telangana is on strike for the sake of separate state,” he said.
Mr. Damodar warned that they would take a touch decision if there is no announcement on Telangana formation by the Centre. “The Telangana people will come to know of our tough decision,” he quipped when journalists asked about their future course of action in case there is no favourable decision on Telangana.
