The indefinite fast undertaken by the former minister Komatireddy Venkatareddy for Telangana state entered the fifth day today.
Doctors who are monitoring his health told journalists that the fasting MLA’s health condition has deteriorated but he is refusing to be treated by them.
“Levels of sugar, potassium and BP have come down rapidly and he should be treated immediately,” doctors said. “His condition will turn worse if he doesn’t take treatment.”
Komatireddy Venkatareddy began his fast at the Telangana Chouk in Nalgonda demanding the formation of the Telangana state. He resigned from the state cabinet a few days ago protesting against the attitude of the congress leadership on the issue of Telangana.
He even threatened to quit the congress if there is no response from the Centre on the issue of Telangana. However, the congress leadership is unmoved on these threats.
