AP assembly introduces three bills before adjournment

Andhra Pradesh Assembly today successfully introduced three bills before the house was adjourned, as the oppositions created a chaotic situation. The government introduced the Andhra Pradesh Tax on Professions, Traders, Callings and Employments (Amendment) Bill, 2011, the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Laws (Second Amendment) bill, 2011, and the Andhra Pradesh Land Reforms (Ceiling) on Agricultural Holdings) (Amendment) Bill, 2011.

As soon as the House reassembled after two adjournments, Speaker Nadendla Manohar asked the Ministers concerned to lay the government bills on the table of the House. As per his directive, Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu on behalf of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy introduced the bill related to Andhra Pradesh Tax on Professions, Traders, Callings and Employments (Amendment) Bill, 2011, Municipal Administration Minister M Maheedhar Reddy on the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Laws (Second Amendment) bill, 2011, and Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on behalf of Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy the Andhra Pradesh Land Reforms (Ceiling) on Agricultural Holdings) (Amendment) Bill, 2011.

Mr. Manohar later announced that the motion was carried and the bills were introduced. Once the bills were passed by both the Houses of the Legislature of the state, it would be submitted to the Governor for his assent under Article 200 of the Constitution of India.

The TDP was demanding a debate on the no-confidence motion for which a notice was given by it to the Assembly Secretary yesterday against the Congress government and the TRS for a resolution in favor of separate Telangana state.
