Two persons were killed including an 8-year old girl and four others seriously injured when an RTC bus rammed into bystanders at the SC colony at Badevari Palem in Voletivari Palem Mandalam of Prakasam district this morning.
The condition of all the injured is stated to be serious, according to police.
Passengers who were journeying in the bus said that the driver all of a sudden collapsed on the steering allowing the bus to go out of control and barge onto the road side pedestrians and bystanders. Later, the bus rammed into a big tree and stopped, according to them.
Locals began an agitation alleging that the driver was fully drunk while driving and making him responsible for the accident. Police however denied the allegation and said the driver has a health problem. (JUBS)
