With by-polls round the corner, interesting turns are taking place in AP politics, especially in the Congress party everyday. The chief whip Gandra Venkatarama Reddy and his wife Gandra Jyothi on Monday evening briefed the media that they would support Sammarao, who was selected by the Congress high command to contest by-polls in Parakala constituency.

The moment this news was in air, people and political observers in the state were astonished. It is known that Gandra Venkataramana and Gandra Jyothi along with a couple of followers staged protest at the chief minister’s camp office in Hyderabad a few days ago against the decision of selecting ex-TDP leader Sammarao in Parakala constituency. They even demanded that the ticket be given to Gandra Jyothi.

Now, the couple made a flip flop. They said they never expected any party ticket. Further, they said it was PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana who said he would give ticket to contest in Parakala constituency. That’s the reason why they had held election campaign in Parakala, the couple added.
