Chittoor district collector Salmas Raju has said that special oxygen plant would be started in Tirupati keeping in view the needs of some private hospitals. It is known that several infants died at Ruya hospital in the city in the past 15 days. The team, which has inspected Ruya hospital to find out the reasons behind the death of infants ascertained that deaths were caused due to shortage of doctors at the hospital. Also, they have found out there were no proper incubators at the hospital besides shortage of oxygen.

So, in order to ensure that no hospital will fall shortage of oxygen, the government has taken up this initiative. These hospitals can approach the oxygen cylinder plant and procure oxygen from there. Further, the collector has said that the holidays of the doctors at Ruya hospital were cancelled and neaerly 20 extra lab technicians would be appointed at this hospital.
