Lok Satta Party chief Jaya Prakash Narayana has said that Surajya movement would be started on October 2. He has said that this movement would go on till October 9. The only MLA from Lok Satta party, JP has urged the support of the media today to take forward Surajya movement. He has also said that the main aim of the movement was to enlighten the rural people that the government services were the primary rights of citizens. This movement would be started from the ground level, he said. As a part of this movement, several committees would be set up and lectures would be given at colleges and villages, added JP.
Political observers have said that movements cannot be decided by politicians or any individual for that matter. None could decided or predict as to when a movement would start, they added. They have also opined that when public come together all of a sudden to revolt against something then it would be called as movement. So, they said an educationist such as JP should have called it as educating programme instead of a movement. They even said that choosing October 2 for this programme apparently projected that there was a political motive behind this programme.
