BJP, which tried to lay siege to Vidyut Bhavan in Khairatabad area of Hyderabad yesterday against the frequent power cuts, has called for state wide protests on August 27, 28 and 29 across the state. The party senior leader Bhandaru Dattatreya has said that the protest would be held at all mandals and a massive dharna would be staged on August 30 at all district headquarters. He has also lashed out at the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. He alleged that it was due to the inefficiency of the chief minister that the state has been witnessing acute power crisis. It has to be mentioned here that power cuts have become common in all villages, towns and cities. In fact, in capital city Hyderabad alone, there's a power cut for three hours. Imagine no power in a city, which labelled itself as the IT hub and Hi-Tec city. Irked over this, people apparently started posting messages against power cuts on social networking websites.
The political parties in the state, which apparently understood the problems of the public being faced due to frequent power cuts, took up the issue seriously. All political parties, in fact, came together on this issue. And the political observers said that Congress retaining power in 2014 would be a distant dream in case this issue is not solved promptly.
