BJP state president Kishan Reddy has alleged the state government was looking at home guards as slaves. The government was not even giving them minimum salaries and were indulging in exploitation of work. Notably, Kishan Reddy along with home guards have staged a protest in front of Indira Park in Hyderabad. To make a point, Kishan Reddy said home guards salaries were not even par with the expenditure on sniffer (police) dogs.
Venting out his anger, Mr. Kishan Reddy stressed that government was so insensitive that it didn't even respond to the demands of the home guards, who had been protesting for the past eight years. He demanded to implement the recommendations of the Kaumudi Committee. Government should give salaries, leaves and health cards to home guards on par with constables. MRPS chief Mandakrishna has extended his support to this agitation.
