AICC emissary for the state, Vayalar Ravi is once again on the screen with debatable comments. This time, again, he has been under the spotlight for being casual about the issue of Telangana. When the media pestered him with questions of Telangana decision, he mockingly said, “he decision of Telangana is not as easy as making a dosa or an appadam”.

He said bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was a grave and a sensitive issue and hence the decision is not an easy one to make. He added that there were several discussions going on about the issue in the Congress party high command. However, he said, he couldn't tell a specific period after which the news would become clear. He hinted that the decision making would take indefinite amount of time.

Vayalar was not very pleasant when the media posed questions on the Telangana issue. Earlier, he said, “Telangana? Where is it?” as if he didn't ever hear the name of the region when he was asked a few routine questions regarding Telangana. He answered, if your questions are routine, so shall my answers be.

TRS didn't take the issue lightly though. They came down heavily on Valayar after his “non-serious” approach to the most burning issue in the state now. TRS Legislature Party leader E Rajender also demanded that Vayalar apologise to the people of Telangana for insulting them with his casual remarks. “If Congress leaders continue insulting our region, they will have to face dire consequences from the people,” he warned.
