Basara Gnana Saraswati temple in the boarder of Andhra and Maharashtra States is thronged by devotees from the State and also from Maharashtra today. As the holidays of the students is coming to an end, parents of small kids wanted to perform Aksharabhyasam for their children to join them in the schools in the coming academic year.
Today also happens to be the first day of Saraswati River puskarams. Devotees had a holy dip in the River Godavari at Basara and performed special pooja at the Saraswati temple.
As usual the temple authorities expecting a heavy inflow of devotees made adequate arrangements for a smooth conduct of temple rituals and darshan of the deity to the devotees.
Saraswati River pushkarams are conducted at Kaleswaram, Karimnagar district. The pushakarams that come once in 12 years is also observed in other States from today for 12 days till 11th June.
