First phase of Panchayat Elections started at 7.00 am which will continue till 1.00 pm. Counting of votes will start at 2.00 pm. 

Counting of votes will begin with Ward Members and after that counting will take place in case of Sarpanchs.

The Election Commission took care to ensure a fair poll. CC cameras are installed in the polling centers and surroundings to capture the activities over there. Rowdy sheeters were already taken by the police under custody and some were bound over to take the situation under control.

First phase of Panchayat elections were postponed at some places due to floods.

A tough fight and political parties' interference is openly seen in the current Panchayat elections which is taken as prestigious by the parties in the wake of General Elections in 2014.
