The Central Board of Film Certification has denied to issue a certificate to the movie Kaum De Heere (Heroes of Community) which portrays Indira Gandhi murderers as heroes. The Censor Board has found fault in showing Bheent Singh, Swatath Singh and Kehar Singh (the main accused in Indira Gandhi murder) as heroes and hence refused to grant certificate.
The director of the film Ravinder Ravi however claimed that the movie is based on facts and he said he will release the movie globally on February 28th if release is denied in India. “I will move to court regarding the certificate to the movie. Script in this film is based on the statements made by the accused and on the prosecution case.”
At a time when the Sikh community is protesting over the 1984 riots and operation Blue star being the headlines, the Censor board has declined to issue a certificate has become the talk now.
