In a major embarrassment to the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi's proof of residence application in his parliamentary constituency Amethi has been rejected by the Sub Divisional Magistrate of the area on Thursday.
The magistrate further said that there is no proof, which shows that Mr. Gandhi stays in Amethi or even occasionally in Amethi. Ironically Rahul has been representing the constituency for the past decade and still has no valid address proof.
Rahul will be testing his luck for the third time and this time the oppositions are going to give tough competition for the Congress vice president. AAP's Kumar Vishwas and BJP's Smriti Irani are contesting against Rahul from Amethi, making the poll battle even more complex.
