The NDA government has made huge changes in the mid-level bureaucracy by transferring about 48 IAS officers in various government departments and orders were issued by Appointments Committee of Cabinet to take charge as immediately as possible. Out this 40 officials were transferred on Tuesday while eight officials were done on Wednesday evening.
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first US visit, this reshuffle hit the civil servants. Many officers who served as the aides of UPA ministers have been appointed joint secretaries in key ministries. Nearly half the appointments have been made from various state cadres, with an aim to bring fresh energy and thinking to the Centre.
The major changes were made in Union Home ministry and Petroleum and Natural gas minitry.
