Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar resigned to his post who is likely to be inducted in Narendra Modi's central cabinet tomorrow. According to the sources, Parrikar is likely to get the very important Defence Ministry and he has sent his resignation letter to Goa Governor. On other hand, new headaches are growing as Deputy chief minister Francis D'Souza has threatened the BJP leadership that if he is not made the CM, he would not continue in government anymore.
Goa state health minister Laxmikant Parsekar, Assembly Speaker Rajendra Arlekar are also heard to be in race for the top chair while the BJP has announced that it would reveal the name of the new CM candidate today at 4 PM. It would be tough decision for BJP as Parsekar is a RSS member and has strong support and background. However, D'Souza is from catholic group and was also responsible for getting the minority votes during the 2012 Goa elections.
Coming to Manohar Parrikar, he held last cabinet meeting this morning and had a teared farewell. After that Parrikar met the BJP legislators at the BJP headquarters. “It was difficult for me to leave the state but nation is bigger than the state,” said Parrikar to the media in Goa.
