It is all over in Delhi now and all the major political parties who have a recognition and history faced a humiliating defeat like never before. In a assembly of 70 members, AAP secured 67 seats while the BJP did worst, managing just three seats and more shockingly the party is not eligible to get the leader of opposition post. Here is a scoop of three leaders who stood tall by the AAP tsunami.
The three leaders are Jagadish Pradhan from Mustafabad constituency, Vijender Gupta from Rohini and Om Prakash Sharma from Vishwas Nagar constituency who overcame the AAP. Among the three Vijender Gupta won with highest majority of 59,866 votes while Om Prakash got 36,000 votes majority. This is not a slight relief to BJP which had strong hold in certain constituencies.
BJP definitely needs a serious introspection into the poll results. But if we look at BJP's strategy to rope Kiran Bedi and ex-AAP leaders, it hasn't worked in their favour. PM Modi's comments on Kejriwal too did not go well with the Delhi voters as they saw a ray of hope in him.
Keeping the results aside now, it is time for AAP to clean the politics.
