Ammonia Gas Tanker Lead in Punjab, 6 Died 100 in Severe Condition

An ammonia gas tanker got struck under a flyover, which leads to the leakage of Gas in Punjab. The tragedy took away 6 lives and around 100 are in severe condition.

The incident happened at one the Doraha Bypass Road along a canal, about 25 km from Ludhiana.

Doraha Police Station’s SHO Rajnish Kumar Sood said that inhaling the gas caused six people to death and the bodies were shifted to a hospital in Ludhiana.

Six persons died due to inhaling of the gas, Doraha Police Station's SHO Rajnish Kumar Sood said, adding, the bodies have been shifted to a hospital in Ludhiana. Apart from that around 100 others who inhaled the gas are suffering with severe breathing problems.

When the gas starts leaking out from the tanker, the residents of the vicinity started running out of their homes. The affected people have been admitted to different hospitals in Ludhiana, Khanna, and Doraha, the SHO said.

The tanker, bearing the registration number of Gujarat was going from Ludhiana side, the police said.

Details were still awaited and identities of the victims yet to be ascertained, police said, adding, senior civil and police officers have rushed to the spot to take investigate the case.
