Bobby Jindal, in US presidential election race

Bobby Jindal, a 44 year old, current governor of Louisiana, had announced his participation in the presidential elections of the USA in 2016.

On Wednesday, Jindal made a post on social networking site saying that he is running for President of America.

His tweet read:

“I’m running for the president of the United States of America. Join me.”

“My name is Bobby Jindal, I am the Governor of the great state of Louisiana, and I am running for President of the greatest country in the world - the United States of America,” Jindal said at an event launching his run.

In the New Orleans suburb of Kenner, Jindal is scheduled to appear today to announce his decision formally. Jindal’s website featured videos of him and his wife, Supriya, and also promising their one of the three daughters, a puppy, if they moved to the White house.

Jindal, who earned a huge popularity once, being a Republican star, struggled with a fiscal crisis and the popularity was degraded later in his home state itself.

There are 12 other Republicans in the presidential election race, along with Jindal and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and some others are expected to join the race.

Thumbs down for Jindal

Few of the Republicans in the state complained that, Jindal spent too much time trying to court national attention while his state was struggling.

In a Reuters/Ipsos online poll of 15 Republicans, drawing less than one per cent, Jindal stood in the last position. At this time, it could be difficult for him, to be one among the top 10 Republican candidates in national polling, who will join the party's first debate in Ohio in August.

Jindal, a converted Christian from Hinduism, fought in May for the gay rights, along with the religion.

Even though Louisiana's House of Representatives had rejected the proposal of same sex wedding, Jindal signed an executive order on the issue, saying that he would absolutely attend the same sex wedding, if it is somebody he would love and cared for.

All these issues are showing thumbs down to win in the presidential elections. However, Jindal is very confident about his victory. Let us see what the fate has decided for Jindal.
