"A deaf and dumb girl, who lost her way to home, is accompanied by a Hanuman Devotee in India, to find her home in Pakistan." Simply, this is the plot of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.
A similar story in real life now came into existence. An Indian girl named Geetha, lost her home and was spotted by some Pakistan rangers, wandering. The girl was just 9 years old, when she was found by those rangers and surprisingly, even she was deaf and dumb.
A welfare organization in Pakistan supported Geetha to grow her older and in fact, they gave a separate prayer room, where posters of Hindu deities like Ganesha are pasted. Geetha is currently 23 years old and so, the organization authorities are planning for her marriage.
Geetha refuses to marry until her parents are found
When asked about this, Geetha refused to marry, until she finds her parents. When the situation is like this, Bajrangi Bhaijaan hit the theaters and is even released in Pakistan. Several people, who know Geetha, related Bajrangi Bhaijaan story to her and then the news was out.
Indian High Commission supports Geetha
Knowing Geetha situation, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that, the Indian High Commission will meet the girl and assures her all kinds of support.
After spending few years at Edhi Centre in Lahore, the girl was moved to a Karachi shelter where Bilquis Edhi, a philanthropist known as 'The Mother of Pakistan', named her 'Geeta' and became quite attached to the girl.
Geetha mystery behind '193'
When given a map, Geetha recognizes her location to be India, but gets confused between Jharkhand and Telangana. Using fingers and facial expression, Geeta says that, she has seven brothers and four sisters. Geetha writes the number ‘193’ several times.
By this, the officials are guessing that, 193 is something that might help to find her parents.
Andhrawishesh.com expresses heartfelt wishes, to Geetha, to find her parents and hope as per the girl’s wish, her marriage would be conducted in her parents’ presence itself.
