Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is back to New Delhi after his four nation African tour will be holding a high-level meet in New Delhi. He will be reviewing the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir. There have been curfew and massive protest since the killing Burhan Wani.
National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, who accompanyed Modi in his nation tour, returned to New Delhi a day before. He also chaired a high-level meeting with the senior Union ministers.
Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister is expected give a detailed brief to Narendra Modi. He will talk on the ongoing turmoil in the state and the measures to be taken by the Central government to bring the situation under control. Top BJP leaders, including Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Manohar Parrikar will also be present in the meeting.
Rajnath Singh postponed his US trip for this meeting. He had to attend the Indo-US Homeland Security Dialogue which was scheduled for next week. The trip has been postponed to september.
Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed clashes between protesters and security forces for the fourth consecutive day over the killing of Burhan Wani. Around 32 people are dead and many got injured in these clashes
Present Situation in the Valley
Strict curfew have been called by the leaders and separatist. They have called for two day shutdown till Wednesday.
Open transport were ceased. All Shops and organizations were shut. Government workplaces, banks, private firms were additionally shut as cellphone web administrations stayed suspended.
