Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa is in Apollo hospital since September 22. From then many rumors came about the CM's health. In a move to end all those rumors and speculations, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has launched a new innovative online campaign to assert that their leader is fine.
The AIADMK shared a link on their official twitter pages, urging users to change their profile picture to a photo along with the caption ‘My CM is fine; No more rumors’.
The statement said “All is well with Puratchi Thalavi Amma. Click this link, change profile pic & put a full stop to rumors.”
Apart from local specialists, a three-member medical team from Delhi's AIIMS and a British doctor Dr. Richard John Beale had examined her. The Apollo hospital had said that “the treatment regimen for Jayalalithaa includes continued respiratory support, nebulisation, drugs to decongest the lungs, antibiotics, nutrition, general nursing care and supporting therapy.”
Rumors regarding her health created a lot of panic among the leader’s supporters. The City Police have placed social networking sites under surveillance to keep a tab on posts spreading rumors on her health condition.
Police said “the move came closely after the City Police had approached the Computer Emergency Response Team, Delhi (CERT) to help make progress in a case related to the controversial post on Jaya’s health published and shared by a French national who goes by the moniker Tamizachi. Tamizachi had been booked under 3 sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 505(i) (statements conducing to public mischief), and 505(ii)(b)(c)(b- with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or against the public tranquillity; c- punishment for inciting the offence), of the Indian Penal Code. The FIR was registered based on a complaint from AIADMK IT Wing State secretary G. Ramachandran.”
