Amarnath Attack: The Story of a Hero Who Saved Several Lives:- The Amarnath Attack which took place last night in Jammu & Kashmir shook the nation completely. Despite of a huge security, the terrorists had a completely comfortable entry into the area where the tourists have been present. Upon entering into the premises, they opened fire which resulted in the death of seven tourists. 12 of them have been severely injured. The terrorists attacked a bus in Anantnag before which they even took on a police outpost in the surroundings. It was the courage of the bus driver that prevented further loss of lives.
The driver has been appreciated for his bravery despite of the terrorists attacking with back to back bullets. However the police investigation revealed that the bus has not taken any permissions for Amarnath yatra and the owner of the bus too has been inside and turned a victim to the attack. Ismail, a Lashkar operative from Pakistan are suspected to be the team behind the attacks and they have targeted the tourists. Amarnath yatra is said to have been getting huge response and the pilgrims visiting Amarnath have been going up after which the terrorists tried attacking them.
A white-coloured bus (GJ09Z9979) packed with Amarnath pilgrims has been returning back to Jammu through Srinagar. The bus was not registered with the Shrine board of the Amarnath yatra and it has been travelling without any police escort informed cops. Once after it turned late, the terrorists attacked the bus in Khanabal. In that dark night, the driver kept cool for sometime and soon he drove the bus which saved many lives. He was not in shock and with bullets raining all around, the kept the bus moving when the tourists have been hiding themselves under the seats.
The driver stopped the bus at an intersection after driving for about a kilometre. Five of those killed were from Gujarat and two from Maharashtra. It was the driver’s brave act that saved many lives and cops have been alerted soon. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti condemned the attacks calling it a terror act on the innocent tourists. Special teams have been investigating the matter and the CM revealed his confidence on spotting them soon.
