1990 Telangana Farmers Passed Away in Two Years:- The Telangana government announced that 1990 farmers passed away in the last couple of years. The state government submitted a report to the Rajya Sabha committee about the Government Assurances last week in which the number has been mentioned. The government of Telangana informed that 1358 farmers committed suicide in the year 2015 and almost 632 passed away in 2016. This happened because of crop loss or severe financial issues among the farmers.

Most of the farmers who ended their life had sown commercial crops informed the government. It earlier disputed about the figures on farmer suicides with the National Crime Records Bureau. The Telangana government revealed that all the loss was not because of crop loss and some of the farmers ended their lives because of personal issues. A committee of Rajya Sabha headed by Mr Satish Chandra has been visiting all the states to assess the conditions of agriculture in the respective states, the number of suicides committed every year and how the state governments have been taking the measures on agriculture and the farmers in their states.
