Telangana Wants Hike In Tax Share:- The Government of Telangana decided to demand the 15th Finance Commission to increase the state's tax share to the Centre. Telangana state is keen on asking the commission to allocate the tax share by taking the population as per 1971 census in consideration. The Commission is expected to visit the state on February 18th to hold some crucial meetings at the Jubilee Hall with CM K Chandrasekhar Rao along with other senior officials of the state.
There are talks that the Commission will visit Kaleshwaram project along with Mission Bhagiratha project on February 20th. The 14th Finance Commission recommended the Centre to devolve 42% share in the taxes to the Telangana Government as per the preferred census. The state government is worried that the share in the taxes will get reduced as per the 15th Commission.
