Biodiversity Flyover Not Safe Says Panel Report:- The Biodiversity flyover incident left the whole state in shock and the Telangana government returned back to damage control mode. Telangana Minister KTR said that an expert committee will investigate the matter said the minister. The panel completed the investigation recently and submitted a detailed report to the government. They made it clear that the biodiversity flyover is safe if the speed limit is fixed at 40 kmph. The panel said that the flyover has serious design flaws and should not be used.
The panel members also suggested several safety measures before re-opening the flyover. They said that 40 kmph speed can be handled only by drivers who are experts. There are two S-type curves which is making the flyover dangerous. They also advised that key requirements are missing for the safe travel of commuters. Stopping sight distance, cone of vision, breaking distance, turning path, acceleration and deceleration length are the problems and loopholes in the constructed flyover.
They Biodiversity flyover was shut down after a car dropped off the flyover on November 23rd and killed a woman. The flyover should get additional safety measures before opening for the commuters.
