Funerals of COVID-19 victims turning more painful for Families:- The death rate in the second wave of coronavirus is quite high and mass funerals are conducted all over the country. The mortal remains of the coronavirus patients are denied to give to their family members. Mass cremations are planned and there is a huge rush at the crematoriums. Only the ash is given to the family members and they are not even allowed to touch the body. The management of the bodies for the coronavirus victims sparked off discussions and even controversies. The mortal remains are taken directly to the crematorium and less than 5 members from a family are asked to be present to perform the last rites without touching the body.
The family members are left with no other options for the burial. The prices for the cremation are too high that most of the families could not afford it. The mortal remains are packed in a special PPE kit with just the face unfolded. The family members are asked to stay far and have the last sight of their family member. There would be no visitors popping in even after you lose a family member because of the scary coronavirus. The family members will not have a chance to conduct an event remembering the loss of their family member as per their tradition. Some of the siblings or the family members could not reach because of the restrictions at the borders and the lockdown imposed in several states.
The coronavirus pandemic left more pain in lakhs of the Indian families. With no amount of burial space available, some of the Christina families had to opt out for cremation. The newly introduced rules left more stress in the families of the deceased.
