Omicron, The New Covid Variant Creates Tension:- The entire globe is slowly recovering the fear of coronavirus. Crores of people lost their lives and lakhs of families are shattered financially because of the pandemic. USA, India, Brazil, Russia and United Kingdom are the most impacted nations of the globe due to the coronavirus pandemic. A new variant named Omicron is traced in South Africa and the variant is named to be of concern. The World Health Organization (WHO) alerted all the countries to be extra cautious. The Indian government started screening and conducting tests from the travelers of these African countries. The entire world is now left in a panic as the variant is said to be highly dangerous and transmissible.

The variant was traced in South Africa on November 24th and it is spread across Belgium, Botswana, Hong Kong and Israel. All the travelers coming to India from South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, Mauritius, New Zealand, China, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong and Israel are thoroughly screened. USA banned flights from some of the African countries to prevent the spread of the variant. WHO said that the variant named B.1.1.529 is present in almost all the South African provinces and some of the African countries. WHO said that it took few weeks to understand about the variant and its impact. There are talks that the vaccine is also less effective against the variant of Omicron. For now, only 24 percent of the South African population is fully vaccinated.

Dr Anthony Fauci, US infectious Disease Chief said that the vaccines will work to prevent the serious illness. WHO asked the countries to implement travel restrictions to decrease the risk. The Indian government ordered rigorous screening and testing for the travelers arriving from South Africa, Hong Kong and Botswana. The entire world is now left in a state of panic after the arrival of Omicron.
