Telangana governor Tamilisai takes a dig on BRS:- In her Republic Day speech, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan criticized the previous BRS government, echoing her earlier address to the Legislature. She stated that the people of Telangana had put an end to a decade of dictatorial rule and established a government that represents their interests. Dr Soundararajan emphasized the need to rebuild constitutional bodies and values that were neglected in the past ten years. She highlighted that the constitution empowers the people to remove rulers who act against its principles through elections. Additionally, she condemned unilateral decisions and dictatorial approaches, stating that they undermine democracy. The newly-elected government's primary goal is to provide equal opportunities, social justice, and freedom to all citizens.
The previous administration showed a complete disregard for employment and the livelihoods of young people, as well as a lack of concern for those who played a significant role in the Telangana statehood movement. The new government, however, is prioritizing job creation for the youth, according to Dr. Soundrarajan. The TS Public Service Commission (TSPSC) is currently undergoing reforms, and once the process is completed, the government will begin recruiting for jobs.
Dr. Soundrarajan expressed the government's determination to propel Telangana state forward, enabling it to compete globally and achieve progress in the welfare and development sectors. Out of the six guarantees promised, two have already been implemented, including the Maha Lakshmi Scheme, which has provided free TSRTC bus transportation services to over 11 crore women. The remaining four guarantees will be implemented within 100 days. The government is currently identifying beneficiaries for these guarantees, with 1.25 crore applications received during the special drive called Praja Palana, conducted in the first week of January.
