YV Subba Reddy demands Hyderabad as Common Capital for Telugu States:- The regulations regarding the division of United Andhra Pradesh stated that Hyderabad would serve as the shared capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for a period of 10 years. This 10-year timeframe is set to conclude this June. Surprisingly, the YSR Congress has now advocated for Hyderabad to remain the joint capital until Vizag is fully established as the capital of Andhra Pradesh. YV Subba Reddy, the spokesperson for the YSR Congress and their new candidate for Rajya Sabha, has made a statement in support of Hyderabad continuing as the capital of both Andhra and Telangana until Vizag is fully developed. He has expressed his intention to advocate for this in the Rajya Sabha and fight for the unity of the Telugu states.
It is worth noting that the Andhra Pradesh government has never fully committed to the idea of a shared capital. The TDP government designated Amaravati as the capital, while the YSRC government focused on developing Vizag as the administrative capital. This turned out to be a new controversy for YSRCP and the opposition leaders slammed YV Subba Reddy for his comments.
