Supreme Judge mocks government

Justice T.S. Thakur, who is the senior most Supreme Court Judge and could be the next Chief Justice, mocked the government of India over its inconsistency in handling the cases related public interest. Addressing the the Asia Pacific International Mediation Summit organised by the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution and the Association of Indian Mediators, Thakur said, lack of governance and inability of officials is the prime reason for increase in cases at the court.

Mediation and timely mechanism to resolve problems could bring a amicable solution to large number of cases involving in government, Thakur added. On the job satisfaction note, Thakur said, he had only five percent asĀ  Supreme Court Judge and the highest judiciary carries the burden of tremendous blockage. Another Justice J S Khehar said, India needs to adopt an alternative dispute resolve mechanism to solve issues at the earliest to put in place a system.
