A large number of Web sites cite Brazil as the destination for sex-tourism

Brazil is famous for its Love Motels (Motor+Hotel). Though the motels are now spurred up all over the world, what distinguishes Brazil Motels from the rest of the world is unlike the family oriented American counterparts, motels in Brazil are strictly for sex and to your surprise it is the girl who often takes a guy to a motel in Brazil.

Now with hundreds of websites touting Brazil as the hot spot for Sex, Prostitution, and Voyeurism, the nation has emerged as the World’s sex-tourism destination. While the flesh trade is very much existing since long, major events like 2014 World Cup and the upcoming Olympic games in Rio has worsened the situation.

A survey conducted on tesão (sexual pleasures) by the private firm, Axur published the results in the Sunday edition of the O Globo newspaper. The studies revealed that a shocking number of websites linked Brazil to the obscene action. With the websites mushrooming every passing day, sex tourism has far surpassed the 2,165 that were already shut down by the tourism ministry in 2011 and 2012.

Axur noticed 3,350 new sites in several different languages created since 2013.

According to Axur, Rio de Janeiro, a city with 6.32 million population is the most commonly touted sex-tourism destination in the South American country of more than 200 million people.

Many sites lure the sex tourists from all parts of the world through their websites:

One such website reads as below:

"Our young women will not be only sex goddesses, but also guides, interpreters, dance partners and really personal lovers."

Another town that is widely targeted is Fortaleza in the northeast.

Also the grand events which the nation hosts like football and the Olympics adds fuel to the fire.

However, the tourism ministry condemns the allegations and in return claims that the sports festivals actually serve to strengthen the network of protection against sexual exploitation.

Though there were no numbers available on sex-tourists visited the nation, the south American country attracts 5.8 million foreign tourists in 2013 and slightly more than six million in 2014, the year of the World Cup.

Sometimes the motels in Brazil gets bad press. But many insist that the sex-tourism doing good for Brazilian society.
