Ex Supreme Court Judge Markandey Katju, following AP government’s crackdown on social media activists made an appeal to President Pranab Mukerjee today.
In the appeal, Katju stated to dissolve the AP legislative Assembly and impose President’s rule in the state. Taking to his Twitter handle, Katju termed the Chandrababu Naidu government as unconstitutional, autocratic and undemocractic for going against the right to freedom of speech and expression in the Indian Constitution.
Katju tweeted, “The present AP government is not being run in accordance with the Constitution and under Article 356 of the Indian Constitution, in such an event, the President’s rule should be imposed in the state.” He further tagged AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Prime Minister Office in the tweet.

Social media activist and Facebook page “Political Punch” admin Inturi Ravikiran, who was arrested by the AP police a couple of days ago, is presently lodged in Guntur sub jail. Inturi Ravikiran is known with the cartoons to Political Punch troll page on social media. He is always known for kind of sarcastic comments and serious sarcasm on Nara Lokesh and Chandrababu Naidu. Ravi Kiran, continued to post alleged defamatory content on the ruling Telugu Desam Party on his Facebook page Political Punch following which he was arrested.
