Thieves Target Temples This Time In Hyd’s KPHB Colony?:- The thieves who would usually steal valuables from the locked houses almost on a regular basis, have now targeted temples in the busy and rich residential KPHB Colony area.
Not one or two, but to everyone’s surprise, three temples in KPHB Colony - Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple near JNTU campus, Ammavari temple in Seven Hills and Venkateshwara Swamy temple at Nizampet were looted by miscreants on Monday night.
Apart from plundering away the cash from hundis at all three places, the diety’s Panchaloha statue from Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple was also stolen. The Garbagudi areas were ransacked and after breaking the hundis open and taking money, they threw them away.
The KPHB police station, interestingly, is just a furlong away from the temple near JNTU and the thieves cared a damn. All the three incidents appeared similar and this could be a serial plunder committed by same team. A day before, they committed a theft in one of these temples and it was second time on Monday.
The amount in the Hundis is still not clear. A dumbstruck KPHB police are investigating.
