Kerala BJP Leader Accepts Rs 5.60 Cr From A Businessman:- The BJP panel for proble managed to locate that a party leader accepted a bribe of Rs 5.60 crores from a businessman for promising a Medical College permission. The party leader promised that he would get the Medical Council of India’s approval for the college. Though the news has been leaked to the media, the party sources denied the news calling it a rumour. The BJP denied the report after the opposition parties demanded a CBI probe on the issue. They even wanted their party’s chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the matter.
Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala says that the CBI investigation should start on this soon. He also said that Modi promised a corruption free government and he should look into the matter soon. The BJP’s illegal acts are exposed tall claims Ramesh. A senior BJP leader said that no one is aware about this completely. However an internal investigation is on and the party leadership will take all the necessary action if proved. BJP’s Kerala general secretary Sobha Surendran on Thursday said that an announcement would be out on this matter.
BJP cooperative cell convener RS Vinod said that there has been a deal done for granting medical college status for SR Hospital in Varkala. RS Vinod revealed that the money has been transferred to a middleman through hawala dealers. State BJP chief Kummanam Rajasekharan informed that a two-member committee has been set up for investigating the matter.
R Shaji, chairman of SR Educational and Charitable Trust, alleged that he paid Rs 5.60 crores to get the permission from MCI. The MCI is the regulator for medical and dental education in India. A copy of the allegation has been sent to BJP Chief Amit Shah and things have been taken seriously. Some of the opposition parties have been in plans to raise this in the state Assembly along with the Parliament soon. However the name of the leader has been kept under wraps.
