Karthi Chidambaram Asked To Appear Before CBI:- The Supreme Court on Friday asked Karthi Chidambaram, the son of former union minister P Chidambaram to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on August 23rd. Karthi Chidambaram has been asked to attend for the interrogation about INX Media in the FIPB approval case. Karthi Chidambaram alleged that he has been harassed on FIPB approval however the apex court asked him to appear before the investigation without fail. Karthi Chidambaram said that his father and Congress leader P Chidambaram was the real target.

Karthi Chidambaram’s counsel Gopal Subramaniam revealed that it has become a fashion to target the relatives of politicians and their families. The bench of CJI J S Khehar and Justice D Y Chandrachud enquired Karthi however he said that he was innocent.Karthi Chidambaram can take his lawyer along with him for the CBI enquiry announced Supreme Court. CBI also challenged Madras High Court petition on the stay of the lookout notice against Karthi.

There are allegations that the firms of Karthi influenced FIPB for Rs 305 crores of investment in INX Media. An FIR has been registered against Karthi along with eight others along with INX Media for receiving foreign investments in 2007.
